There's Nothing More Important?

Every news program that I've watched since last night has had the story about Michele Obama shopping at Target as one of the top stories. Really? The fact that she went shopping at Target is more important than the national debt or what's going on in Afghanistan? She's not the first First Lady to go incognito in order to go to a store and she's not going to be last. The media is so infatuated with anything that has to do with Obama that it shouldn't shock me that it's been a top story all day. I'm not sure what the media would do if Obama actually spent time trying to fix the U.S. instead of destroying it.

Just One Little Thing

Why is it that just one little thing in the mornings can make our whole day good or make our whole day bad? I ask because one little thing that someone said to me this morning made my whole day good. I was in a good mood the whole day and it's not like it was any big thing but it was just something that put me in a really good mood. You would think I would be happy just because I woke up and was able to get out of bed. Nope, for some reason that's not enough for me to be in a good mood about. Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful that I woke up and was able to get out of bed, I guess I just take that for granted which is something I definitely shouldn't. I'm just wondering why the slightest little thing can make our whole day or ruin our whole day.

I know that it's not the case to be in a good mood or bad mood the whole day just because of one little thing that happened to you that morning but 8 times out of 10 that's how it goes for me. When I start off the day in a good mood then my day is most likely going to be a good one, when I start it out in a bad mood then it's most likely not going to be the best day for me. Why do I let one thing in the mornings determine how my day is going to be? A bad start to the day will make it a bad day unless something really great happens like I win the lottery, guess I have to play first before that will ever happen, vice versa for a good day. I know it's crazy to let one thing influence how my whole day is going to be but in life it's the little things that matter to me, including what my mood is going to be like for the day.

Most Annoying Celebrities List

Parade and Yahoo! OMG! conducted a pole to see who America thought the most annoying celebrities of 2011 are.
The results are:

Kim Kardashian – 29%

Charlie Sheen – 27%

Snooki – 21%

Lindsay Lohan – 16%

Donald Trump – 5%

Brad Womack – 1%

I can think of a few others who need to be on there. I love Charlie, so I of course think he shouldn't be on there, lol. Do you agree with the list?

Why Keep It?

I've been going through all of my stuff I have for a yard sale we're having this weekend. As I'm going through the mounds of stuff, I just keep thinking why in the world haven't I gotten rid of this stuff before? I don't understand why I hold on to this stuff that I haven't used or even thought about using in years.

I didn't always use to be this way, in fact, it's just been recently that I've been able to give up the stuff I never use and won't ever use again. I use to think, well I can't get rid of it I might need it sometime for something. If you haven't used it in the last 6 months to year then you're not going to use it. Pointless to keep things when you'll never use them. I've lost a lot of weight and there's absolutely no reason for me to keep the clothes that are too big for me now, I never plan on getting that big ever again so why keep it. I can understand keeping a few things that have sentimental value that you never use but when you get a room full of stuff then that's just going overboard.

I have a stack full of PC, Playstation and DS games that I haven't played in years yet I still had them. Why? It's not like I'm going to go back and play those old games, I go out and buy new ones to play and barely even have time to play those. I have no idea if it's just because I'm getting older and becoming a lot more responsible or what has caused me to change the way I think about keeping stuff but I'm glad I've changed. Why keep the stuff when I could sell it and get some money for it? That's a whole lot better than having it sit in my room and it getting no use out of it.

Two In A Row

No, I'm not talking about Tony Stewart winning two races in a row but the fact that there's been two fuel mileage races in a row in the Chase. Does this sound wrong to anyone else but me?

I don't understand why NASCAR would want to put two fuel mileage races in the Chase let alone in the very beginning. They know which races are more than likely going to end up in fuel mileage, you can go back and look at past races to see that. Why not swap Chicago and New Hampshire for Bristol and Richmond? Make Bristol the first race in the Chase and Richmond the last (suggested by one of my awesome twitter followers, Tracey). NASCAR wants hype for the Chase and two fuel mileage races aren't the way to get it. No one wants to watch a race where the drivers can't even hardly pass anyone and the only excitement are the last 3 laps because you see who has enough fuel and who doesn't. NASCAR really needs to rethink the tracks in the Chase and the least they could do is change up which tracks are in the Chase every year.

Completely unrelated to the fact that it was another fuel mileage race but I just want to say that I really respect Jimmie Johnson as a driver. He didn't once during his interview place all the blame on Kyle for what happened and he just said it was hard racing in the final laps, which is exactly what it was. I know if it had been some other drivers they would have jumped at the chance to place blame on Kyle. Happy that Jimmie didn't do that, I respect and like Jimmie for how he is.

I'm Just Amazed

I just don't get people, they're crying over a man they've never met, never even talked about before nor even knew anything about before the last few days yet they say nothing about all of the children that die from being abused, those that are killed before they even get a chance to be born or those that are murdered by horrible people. What about those kids that live in drug abused homes who have to sleep on the floor and have to go to neighbors and beg for food? What about those that die in the social services system because their number one goal is to reunite the family not the children's safety? Why is there not a national outcry for those? My mom and I have had to fight tooth and nail for Alyssa to be kept safe and yet hardly anyone seems to care about that.

This world amazes me because people get so irate over something just because the media makes a huge deal about it. You don't even know all of the facts nor have you probably even taken the time to go over all of the actual facts. Shut up about something you know very little about and can't do a darn thing about and go speak up about the innocent children dying or the elderly being taken advantage of. If people would only make this big of a deal about other important issues then a lot more stuff would get accomplished. I'm just over people acting like they care so much about a person they didn't even know existed a few days ago and that they don't even know hardly anything about.

Yea, that's my little rant on the subject because I'm sick and tired of seeing people say how much this affects them and how much they're saddened by it. I don't see people getting upset about innocent children's lives being taken, oh yea it's not been on the national news so it doesn't matter to people.

No More Pain

Last night my grandpa passed away and as bad as I'll miss him, I'm so thankful that he isn't in any pain anymore. He was a wonderful person and the best Christian I've ever known, I know he's in heaven right now enjoying his mansion.

He was in so much pain for so long and seeing him hurt so bad was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. He showed me exactly what a true Christian is suppose to be and up until the time he died he was praising God for everything he's done. Not one time did my papaw ever get upset or lose faith with God for getting cancer. I can't say that I was the same as my papaw. I just couldn't understand how God could let a wonderful man like my papaw get cancer, I just wanted to know why someone like him has to go through so much pain but people who lie, steal and cheat don't have to. My papaw showed me though that I can't be mad at God, I need to praise God for everything he's given me. If I can just be half the Christian he was then I'll be doing really good. I'll miss him something terribly but I know he's in the best place ever and in no more pain, I know he'll always be watching out for me. As my papaw always said, "It'll be alright" and "Praise Jesus", something he never stopped doing.

I Have a Few

As I sit in here the hospital with people constantly coming in and out of my grandpa's room, I notice that some of the things they do absolutely drive me up a wall. Since I don't have a lot to do in here, I decided to think of what some of my top pet peeves are. I have more than just these but I thought I would put some of my top ones. Tell me what yours are and sometime in the future I'll do a blog about what the top pet peeves that you have are.

My Top Pet Peeves

  1. Chewing food with mouth open
  2. Smacking bubble gum. It's easy to do, just close your mouth
  3. People constantly begging for attention. It get's really old when you continually say stupid stuff just to get someone to notice you.
  4. When people don't use the correct homophone. For example, people who use then when it should be than or your when it should be you're
  5. Clicking a pen constantly
  6. People who leave their blinker on for miles after they've turned. You really don't notice that sound?
  7. People who wear clothes that are 2 sizes too small. Wear clothes that fit, you'll look a lot better without that muffin top.
  8. Going the speed limit in the fast lane. It's called the fast lane for a reason.
  9. People who complain about everything, just stop no wants to be around a debbie downer.
  10. People who text me first and I respond right away but they never text me back. Why text me first when you're not even going to respond?
So those are just a few of the many that I have. Needless to say I tend to get annoyed easily by people.

I'm a Proud Fan

The Bengals played the Browns today and beat them 27-17. To say I'm happy about that is an understatement. Seeing them play today has given me even more hope for the rest of the season.

The Bengals in no way played a perfect game but they sure did play a lot better game than all of the doubters said they would. There were definitely highs in the game but there were lows as well. The offense had some really good plays and Andy Dalton was having a pretty good game until his wrist was injured taking him out for the rest of the game. Brad Gradkowski came in and wasn't doing the best in the beginning but ended up throwing two touchdown passes. Defense had it's ups and downs but when it really counted they were there and were a huge part in helping win the game at the end. I'm not saying the Bengals are going to go 16-0 but they aren't going to do as bad as a lot of people have predicted. I'm proud of my Bengals and I've had faith in them since the beginning and even more faith now.

Who Dey :)!

If You Don't Like It Then Oh Well

I'm a die hard sports fan for my team and driver. I'll get upset when they lose and I'll be the happiest person when they win. I show how happy or upset I am too, especially on Twitter. I've had a few people comment and tell me I shouldn't show my emotions so much whether they win or lose. If you have a problem with how I act towards my teams then it's your problem not mine, if you don't like it then unfollow. I can be as upset as I want to be or as happy as I want to be. It's my twitter and I'll say what I want to, don't tell me I need to tone things down, you're not forced to follow me. With that I'll leave you with Who Dey :)!!

I Can't Believe It's Already Been 10 Years

This time 10 years ago no one would have ever imagined what was going to happen in less than 24 hours from now. Our lives would be forever changed by people with an extreme hatred for the U.S. Thousands of lives lost and millions of people affected by those planes being hijacked. Being in two wars since then was something no one would have ever thought about 10 years ago. It's amazing how a few people with a hate for the U.S. can do so much damage and affect so many lives. A lot has happened in those 10 years but never will we forget what happened on 9/11 nor forget those lives lost then and the lives that have been lost since then fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq to keep us safe.

I will never forget where I was when that first plane hit. I was in 5th grade and I went to a Catholic school at the time and we were over to church learning about all of the different Saints. As we were walking back over to school from church one of the teachers came out and told our teacher what had happened. We went inside and our teacher turned on the tv, we saw the first tower burning. Not even 2 minutes after the tv was turned on, the second plane hit. I'll never forget those images or forget seeing those people jump out of the buildings. So much devastation in so little time. I was only 11 but I still understood that there were horrible people out there that hated America, what I couldn't understand was why they would want to kill thousands of innocent lives. To this day I still don't understand it and I doubt I ever will. 9/11 will forever be a day that we will never forget.

One More Before and After

Still amazed at the change.

I Never Realized

I wore my new jeans today for the first time since I got them a couple of weeks ago because it was actually cold enough to wear them. I put them on and it hit me that these are actually three sizes smaller than I was wearing this time a year ago and I thought, well that's not that big of difference. I finally realized it when I was looking at old pics of myself from a year or two ago and I never realized how big I actually was. I guess I was just oblivious to it and didn't see how big I was. I thought it hadn't made that much of a difference that I had lost 50 pounds, that sounds crazy I know. I do realize now how much I've changed since I started losing weight in February and I am so much happier, have a lot more confidence and so much more self-esteem. Thought I'd post some before and after pics on here so you all could see what I looked like before I lost weight and what I look like now.

They Can Actually Fry That?

I was looking on the trending search topics on Yahoo and one of them happened to be fried bubble gum. Really, they can actually fry it? Why Would you want it fried? I kept wondering how anyone would even come up with the idea to fry bubble gum and then I wondered what other crazy things have people decided to batter and see if it can be deep fried. So I went searching and some of the foods that I found they have fried just absolutely amazed me. Here's some of the craziest ones I found.

  1. Deep Fried Kool-Aid
  2. Deep Fried Cheeseburgers (Talk about a heart attack waiting to happen...5000 calories)
  3. Deep Fried Spaghetti and Meatballs
  4. Deep Fried Coca-Cola
  5. Deep Fried Cheesecake
  6. Deep Fried Pig-ears (Eww)
  7. Deep Fried Butter (1085 calories in it, almost my whole days worth)
  8. Deep Fried Pizza
  9. Deep Fried Jelly Doughnuts
  10. Deep Fried Bacon
There's definitely a lot more deep fried foods than that but those were just some of the most interesting ones that I found. It seems like if there's a will to deep fry it then there's a way to do it. People wonder why the U.S. is the most overweight nation in the world. Every thing is always better fried and of course always higher in calories, that's why I have to stay away from it.

Completely Ridiculous

Last night the NASCAR race was postponed until Tuesday morning because of rain. I was disappointed because they didn't get to race but I realize that you can't control nature and stuff is going to happen. I'm a huge NASCAR fan so don't think that by me not being completely irate like some people were, doesn't make me a true NASCAR fan. I just know that there's way more important things in life than watching a race and to say some of the things I was seeing people say on twitter is just completely ridiculous and stupid. I can understand people being extremely upset if they went to the race, spent money and time go to it and then weren't able to go back tomorrow to see it. Yea, then I would be quite upset because of that.

I'm passionate about my sports and yea I wasn't happy about not getting to see the Bengals play live but you never saw me as upset as some of the people got last night about not being able to watch the race tomorrow and these people didn't even go to the race. They should be thankful that they're missing the race because they have to work and not because they can't afford to pay for cable because they don't have a job or because they're really sick and just don't feel like watching it. People who have always said that they're Christians and are always talking about something that has to do with God, were cussing mother nature (aka God) last night because of it raining, my mouth hit the floor when I saw this. There is absolutely no reason to say that even if you are mad, especially when you talk about yourself being such a big believer in God. I'm a Christian and I'll admit I'm not anywhere near close to being a perfect one but I also don't go and constantly say what a perfect Christian I am because I'm far from it. That's not even half of the horrible things I saw people saying on twitter about the race being postponed. I promise, you will live even though you don't get to watch one NASCAR race, the world will go on. If the people I saw getting so mad over not getting to watch the race then I would hate to see what they're like when something really important in their life goes wrong.

Maybe I'm just like this because of the stuff that's been going on the last few years in my life but I realize what's important and I'm not going to get extremely mad over missing a race. Yea, I won't be happy but my life will go on and in the big scheme of my life, it won't have a direct impact on it. You can think what you want about me but because I'm not irate about it being postponed doesn't mean that I'm not a true fan of the sport. I'm a die hard NASCAR and football fan, I'm getting there with golf too but I realize my priorities in life.

New Face on Trackside

Speed channel has hired a new reporter for it's NASCAR Trackside show for the next four weeks. Her name is Marianela Pereyra, she's a model/actress and her former jobs include NBC’s Poker After Dark, ESPNU’s college football series Road Trip and VH1’s Dance Cam Slam. She's had no experience in NASCAR at all and it seems like the only reason Speed hired her is for her looks, they believe that she will help to increase ratings.

I think it's completely ridiculous that they would hire someone like her to be a reporter for a show that covers NASCAR. It saddens me that the sport is becoming all about the sex appeal of a person, shouldn't it be about someone who has the credentials to do the job and someone who actually knows about NASCAR? Once again this just goes to show that sex sells, you don't have to know a thing about the sport but as long as you're pretty then you're qualified for the job. If they want someone who's pretty at least find someone who has covered the sport before and knows something about it. It's an insult to people who work hard to learn all they can about the sport and gives everything to try and get into the sport as a reporter.

In case you're wondering what Marianela looks like...

What's It Matter?

The President of the U.S. invited last years Chase contenders to the White House on Wednesday. Several drivers declined to go and of course, now people are making a huge deal about it. Some are mad at the ones who are going and some are mad at the ones who aren't. My question is, what's it matter if they go or not? Nothing bad is going to happen if they do or don't go. The only people that it affects are the drivers. They're grown men and they can make their own decisions. Once people heard about drivers not going they automatically jumped to the conclusion that it's because they're republicans and don't like him. People never even considered that they are busy people and if the president really wanted them all to be there he would have scheduled it months in advance so they could have their schedules cleared for it. What's the big deal if they just don't like him? Last I checked, it's still a free country and you still have the right to make your own choices. They made the choice to go or not to go, you getting mad over it isn't going to change their mind. As far saying that they're disrespecting the president, how are they doing that? The president never said they had to be there, he gave them the choice on whether or not to come. Just because a driver declines to go meet the president, doesn't mean that's a sign of disrespect.

In my opinion, I would be more upset at a driver who didn't want to go to a charity function than one who didn't want to go see the president. I believe that raising money for charities is a lot more important but that's just me. What if one of those drivers who said they couldn't go has to be at a function for a charity? How would you feel if they cancelled that to go see the president? Maybe you should learn to consider the circumstances instead of jumping straight to a conclusion. I'll lose respect for a driver who doesn't go to a charity event rather than one who decides not to go see the president. There's more important things in this world to be mad about, it's stupid to be mad over whether a driver goes to see the president or not.

There's a Fine Line Between Passionate and Crazy

I realize that people are passionate about sports and in this particular case, passionate about NASCAR but there has to be a line drawn when you start harassing and giving people death threats because you don't agree with them. I love NASCAR as much as the next person but I wouldn't even think about threatening another persons life over something that happened in it or any other sport that I watch. I'm not saying I don't get upset over things that happen that I don't like or agree with everyone's opinion but I don't go threatening other people over their views on things.

I say all of that because yesterday Jeff Gluck, a writer for SB Nation, wrote an article about the Sprint Cup drivers being invited to the White House and five of them declining to go. Gluck gave his view on it and people didn't agree with that so now he's been getting horrible emails from people who aren't even NASCAR fans because the article was featured on news networks. Really people? There's a lot more important things going on in the world than to worry about sending threatening emails to someone over what they had to say about NASCAR drivers not going to meet the president. Why don't you channel some of that anger into emails to people in the government about the horrible situation that our country is in? No, I'm not saying it's ok to threaten them or anything, I'm just saying that there's more important things to be mad about than someone's view on whether or not someone chose to go meet the president. If you're going to be that mad over something at least let it be over something important.

As I Get Older

When I was a kid and teenager I really had no desire for stuff to be neat and organized but as I've gotten older and especially the last year or so I've really been more into having things organized. It's really one of those things where I feel my chest getting tight when things are just scattered all over the place. I never use to care this much before but it just absolutely drives me crazy now when things aren't neat.

Lately it's been really bad because Alyssa still doesn't have her own bedroom because we never thought we would actually get to the point where we knew she was ours and wasn't going to be taken away from us. We didn't want to start building another room and then have her ripped from us so he just started building it at the beginning of the Summer. He works full time so he can't work on it a whole lot but it's getting there. Anyways, since she doesn't have a room her toys are all over the place, mainly the living room. It drives me crazy that I have no place to put her toys and today I just couldn't take it anymore. I've worked pretty much all day on trying to get some organization and I've finally got a little bit of it. It will be ten times better when she actually has a room though. Clutter is just one of my pet peeves, maybe I'll do a blog sometime over some of the others. I know I can't be the only one who has more than one pet peeve.
